Vadodara railway station has started Gujarat’s first digital lounge for passengers, offering upgraded waiting facilities at the station.
The lounge was inaugurated by Vadodara MP Dr. Hemang Joshi in the presence of local MLA Keyur Rokadia and senior railway officials, including DRM Raju Bhadke. The facility has been set up as part of Indian Railways’ efforts to improve passenger amenities.
Located within the station premises, the lounge can accommodate over 25 passengers and includes seating, high-speed Wi-Fi, charging points, and digital display systems. The design and setup are similar to premium airport lounges, aimed at providing a more comfortable waiting area.
Railway officials said the project was approved by the Railway Board and implemented in Vadodara as a pilot initiative in the state.
With a large number of passengers using Vadodara station daily, the lounge is expected to help manage crowding and provide better facilities. Details regarding access and usage are yet to be announced.
