Ahead of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation elections, a large number of aspirants have applied for BJP tickets across the city, indicating high competition within the party.
According to party sources, a total of 1,434 applicants have submitted their claims for 76 seats across 19 wards. This puts the average at around 19 to 20 aspirants per seat. Ward No. 12 has reported one of the highest numbers of applicants among all wards.
Party observers were assigned to collect feedback and assess potential candidates. The process saw long queues and multiple applications from different areas. Many aspirants have stated that they want to work on pending civic issues if selected.
Out of the total applicants, only 76 candidates will be finalised by the party. There has been no official announcement yet regarding the final list of candidates. More details are awaited on the selection process and timeline.
