Two Youths Drown in Mahi River Near Kotna, Three Rescued
Two youths from Vadodara died after drowning in the Mahi River near Kotna on Sunday afternoon. The incident took place when a group of nine friends had gone to the river to bathe during the summer heat.
According to initial information, five of them entered deeper water and were caught in the river’s current. People present at the spot managed to rescue three youths, while two others could not be saved.
On receiving information, the Vadodara Fire Brigade reached the location and carried out a rescue operation. The bodies of the two youths were later recovered from the river. They have been identified as Krishna Rajput from Dandia Bazaar and Jay Joglekar from Salatwada.
The bodies have been shifted to Gotri Hospital for postmortem. Further details regarding the incident are awaited.
