Vadodara Hostel Students Face Food Issues, Contractor Issued Notice

Issues related to food quality and basic facilities have been reported at Pujya Ravishankar Maharaj Kumar Chhatralay in the Tarsali area of Vadodara, where students alleged that they did not receive proper meals for two days.

According to students, cooking was affected due to the unavailability of gas cylinders. They also raised concerns about hygiene in the kitchen, claiming that insects were found in flour and vegetables. The situation led to protests by students at the hostel.

Following the incident, former mayor Nilesh Rathod and local leader Yogesh Rathod visited the premises and reviewed the conditions. The hostel administration has acknowledged lapses and issued a notice to the contractor responsible for food services.

Authorities have arranged temporary gas supply to resume cooking and are in the process of applying for a permanent PNG gas connection.

Further action and improvements in facilities are awaited.
