BCA Elections: 4 Candidates Declared Ineligible Over Cooling-Off Rule

The Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) election process has seen a key development after the High Court declared four candidates ineligible over violation of the “cooling-off period” rule. The decision has affected the ongoing election process and changed the current scenario.

According to information, objections were raised against certain candidates for not complying with the cooling-off rule under the BCCI constitution, which requires a three-year break after two consecutive terms. Joint Secretary candidate Jatin Vakeel stated that objections were submitted earlier, but a decision was not taken at that stage.

Following the High Court order, the vote counting process, which was earlier on hold, is expected to proceed. Ineligible candidates may be replaced by their respective opponents, as per the outcome of the process.

The court has also given time to the affected candidates to approach the Supreme Court. Further developments in the election process will depend on any legal proceedings that follow. More details are awaited.
