Vadodara: Gujarat Govt to Make Key Certificates Available Online from April 2026
The Gujarat government has announced a major administrative reform to reduce the need for citizens to visit government offices for routine services. From April 1, 2026, around 18 to 20 essential certificates will be made available online through a state-run digital portal.
According to the decision, citizens will be able to apply for and download certificates such as income certificates, caste certificates and other basic documents from home. The move is aimed at making government services paperless and faceless, thereby reducing delays and manual procedures.
Officials said the online system will help speed up processing, reduce dependence on intermediaries and improve transparency in service delivery. The decision is expected to benefit students in particular, who often require multiple certificates during admission processes each year.
The state administration has issued instructions to concerned departments to complete technical and operational preparations ahead of the April 2026 rollout. Authorities have stated that the new system will be implemented in a phased and monitored manner to ensure smooth functioning.
Further details on the list of certificates and the application process are expected to be released closer to the implementation date.
