Kavach 4.0 Commissioned on Vadodara–Nagda Route to Enhance Train Safety

The ‘Kavach 4.0’ train protection system has been commissioned on the Vadodara–Nagda railway route, marking an upgrade in safety measures on this section.

The system was launched at Platform No. 6 of Vadodara railway station in the presence of Western Railway General Manager Pradeep Kumar, DRM Raju Bhadke, and other officials. A locomotive equipped with the Kavach system was flagged off as part of the commissioning process.

Kavach is an indigenously developed automatic train protection system designed to prevent accidents by assisting in situations involving human error. It can automatically control or stop a train if required.

Under the project, the system will cover a total of 224.51 route kilometres, including the Vadodara–Mangal Mahudi and Panchpipliya–Nagda sections.

Railway officials stated that the system has been implemented to improve safety on this route. Further expansion to other sections may be taken up in future phases.
