Zomato has increased its platform fee for food delivery orders, making online ordering slightly more expensive for users. The revised charges came into effect from March 20, 2026.
According to available information, the platform fee has been increased from ₹12.50 to ₹14.90 per order, marking a rise of around 19 percent. The fee is applied on each order placed through the app.
The change comes amid rising operational costs in the food delivery sector. Industry sources indicate that factors such as higher fuel and gas costs have contributed to increased expenses for restaurants and delivery platforms.
Zomato has not issued a detailed public statement on the revision so far. However, the updated charges are now visible to users while placing orders on the app.
With the increase, customers may see a higher total bill along with existing charges such as GST and delivery fees. Further updates regarding pricing or policy changes are awaited.
