Under RTE, 7936 students filled forms for 3800 seats

Under Right To Education (RTE), in order to provide quality education in private schools to the children of financially deprived families, registrations of Standard 1 are being done through the online form filling process.

In Vadodara, there has been a huge rush of parents this year to get their children enrolled in private schools.
This year, 700 seats have been reduced compared to last year, hence, many children from poor families
will be deprived of admission this year.

Under RTE, in the academic year 2021-22, 7936 students have filled up the forms for admission against
the 3800 seats available for admission in Std 1. The last day of filling the forms is over. The first list will
be released after July 13.

Shivangi Shastri, an official of the District Education Office, said “This year, under the Right To Education,
there are 3,800 seats available in Standard 1. Parents of 7,936 students have registered for 3,800
seats. Now the process of verification of filled online documents has begun. The eligibility of all
the filled forms will be checked and will continue till July 13th. A week later, the list of the first round
of admission under RTE will be released.”
She further stated, “There has been no increase in seats this year as compared to last year in view of the
Corona epidemic. Last year there were 4,500 seats, but this year the seats are 3,800.”
This year, amidst the pandemic, the jobs of many parents have been affected and the number of seats has
decreased hence, many students will be deprived of admission.
