Foreign liquor bottles found at MSU boys’ hostel in Vadodara

VADODARA, INDIA: Empty bottles of foreign liquor were found in large numbers at Manubhai Mehta Hall, a boys’ hostel of Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU) in Vadodara, on Saturday. The bottles were reportedly recovered from hostel rooms and common lobby areas.

The incident comes close on the heels of a recent controversy involving liquor bottles found on the Gujarat University campus. After the matter was noticed at MSU, university authorities and the vigilance team reached the hostel premises to assess the situation.

Despite the presence of security guards and a vigilance mechanism on campus, the recovery of liquor bottles from inside the hostel has raised questions about monitoring within the hostel premises. Officials have begun internal inquiries to understand how the liquor entered the hostel.

This is not the first time such an incident has been reported from a boys’ hostel at the university. University officials have stated that further verification is underway and appropriate action will be taken based on findings. More details are awaited as the inquiry continues.
