Vadodara Municipal Corporation has launched a ‘One Day, One Road’ drive to improve cleanliness and ease traffic movement in the city. The initiative began on Thursday in Ward No. 15 of the East Zone.
The drive covered the stretch from Uma Char Rasta to Panigate, where teams carried out cleaning and removal of encroachments. Roadside stalls, illegal structures, and other obstructions affecting traffic flow were cleared. Dust and waste accumulated on roads and dividers were also removed as part of the operation.
Municipal Commissioner Arun Mahesh Babu was present during the drive and reviewed the work on site. He instructed officials to maintain regular cleanliness and warned that action will be taken if encroachments reappear after removal.
Officials from sanitation, water supply, and ward departments participated in the drive. Authorities have appealed to citizens to avoid littering and illegal parking.
The civic body is expected to continue similar drives in other parts of the city in the coming days.
