Vadodara Police Deployed at Petrol Pumps Amid Fuel Rumour Panic

Vadodara police were deployed across several petrol pumps on Thursday morning after large crowds and long queues were reported a day earlier due to rumours about fuel shortage.

The situation was observed at multiple fuel stations across the city on Wednesday, where panic buying led to congestion and traffic issues. In response, police teams were stationed at key petrol pumps from early morning to manage the crowd and maintain order.

Officials used loudspeakers to inform citizens that there is no shortage of petrol or diesel in the city. Police personnel also interacted with vehicle owners, advising them to avoid panic refuelling and only purchase fuel as required.

Authorities stated that fuel supply remains normal, and oil companies are maintaining regular distribution. The rush was attributed to unverified messages circulating on social media.

The situation has since improved, with reduced queues reported at most locations. Police have urged residents not to believe or share rumours and to cooperate in maintaining normal conditions.
