A video allegedly showing a police officer accepting money has surfaced on social media, bringing the Vadodara Police Department back into focus. The video is said to involve then PSI N. N. Zaveri, who was posted at the Refinery Police Station.
According to information shared online, the officer allegedly demanded ₹40,000 to settle a case related to a physical assault. The video reportedly shows ₹20,000 being accepted. The footage was released by Mustufa alias Inayat Ibrahim Khatki and has been circulating widely on social media platforms.
The incident comes shortly after another case involving an ASI linked to a heroin seizure was reported in the city. Following the circulation of the video, senior police officials became aware of the matter.
Police sources said the video is being examined and an inquiry is underway to verify the authenticity of the footage and the allegations made.
