- According to reports, in case of human death, the assistance per person was earlier Rs.4,00,000, but now it is Rs.5,00,000 will get paid.
- Instead of Rs.59,100, Rs.1,00,000 will be granted in the case of a 40% to 60% impairment.
Human casualties and animals deaths reports are on the rise as a consequence of wildlife attacks in and around the state forests. In such circumstances, the state government has improved and established new compensation rates to be paid to individuals.
According to the State Forest and Environment Department’s list, the state government’s new rate of compensation for human death/injury and animal mortality caused by wildlife attacks is now Rs 4,00,000 per person, with a maximum of Rs 5,00,000 in situations of human death.
Similarly, instead of Rs 59,100, Rs 1,00,000 will be granted in the case of 40 percent to 60 percent disability due to human injury. If the disability is greater than 60%, Rs.2,00,000 will get provided, and if the injured person stays in the hospital for three days or more, Rs.10,000 will be paid instead of the previous support.
These revised rates will take effect on January 9th, and any compensation due before the adoption of this resolution must be paid at the rates in place at the time. It’s worth noting that the Wildlife Conservation Act of 1972 includes the definition of wildlife, which includes lions, tigers, pangolins, bears, crocodiles, wolves, rhinoceroses, and wild boars.
