Seasonal illness cases rise in Sayaji Hospital’s OPD ward, patients have to lie on the floor

In the SSG Hospital, the OPD ward has been flooded with patients with seasonal illness. The lack of beds in the ward forced the patients to sleep on the floor.

The number of seasonal illnesses is on the rise in Vadodara. The cases of Dengue and Chikungunya have increased in the city. The growing number of viral infection cases, Dengue, and Chikungunya in government as well as in Private Hospitals. An average of 300 dengue cases is being reported daily. 32 cases of Dengue were reported on Saturday, while 21 cases of Chikungunya have been reported. 721 cases of fever and 102 cases of Diarrhea and vomiting. 

Out of 102 samples taken by various teams of the Municipality, 33 were dengue positive. While out of 104 samples, 21 cases of Chikungunya came positive. The number of dengue-positive cases in the city has risen to 692, while the total number of chikungunya patients has reached 406.

On Saturday the municipality inspected 12,764 houses and found 51 cases of diarrhea and vomiting and 236 cases of fever. However, one case each of Typhoid has been reported in Ramdevnagar and Shiyabagh as well as in Karelibagh and Kapurai in Kamla.

The municipality team checked homes and began searching for mosquito breeding grounds. Of these, 38 construction sites were checked, 14 hostels and schools. Out of which 17 construction sites and 1 hostel were issued notices by the municipality.
