RPF celebrates 36th Raising Day, 15 personnel of WR received DG Insignia

Western Railway’s Railway Protection Force (RPF) celebrated its 36th Raising Day on 20th September 2020 and planned a week-long series of several programs. The General Manager of Western Railway, Alok Kansal, conveyed his best wishes to the entire RPF fraternity and wholeheartedly appreciated them for their extraordinary, unparalleled and exemplary services during the pandemic. He said that the RPF has displayed immense courage and passion in their duties and have also maintained humane gesture towards our passengers.

Minister of Railways, Piyush Goyal also extended his wishes to the RPF on its 36th Raising Day and saluted the RPF for its meritorious service and bravery. WR CPRO Sumit Thakur stated that several RPF Personnel of Western Railway has shown acts of bravery and valor during the course of their duty. They went out of their call of duty to help the needy and even risked their lives to save and help people. Their contribution during the nationwide lockdown especially for the distribution of food and water to the underprivileged is worth appreciating.

Thakur informed that Shivcharan Singh Gurjar posted at Mahesana RPF Post over Ahmedabad division is the recipient of the prestigious President’s “Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak” for his exemplary act of courage & bravery. Singh rescued nine persons stranded in flood waters that affected Gujarat in 2019 by putting his own life in danger. Another 15 RPF personnel of Western Railway, namely: Devansh Shukla – Security Commissioner, Pawan Kumar Shrivastava – Security Commissioner, Ghanshyam Pandey – Sub Inspector, Bahadur Singh – Asstt. Sub Inspector, Ashok Kumar – Head Constable, Naveen Kumar – Constable, Sandeep Kumar – Constable, Sanjeev Kumar – Constable, Dinesh Kumar Goswami – Constable, Ram Prakash Meena – Sub-Inspector Driver, Saiyyad Liyakat Ali – Asstt. Sub-Inspector Driver Gr. I, Tikam Singh – Sub Inspector, Kaushal Kishor Shukla – Sub Inspector, Dhanjay Babi Dagare – Asstt. Sub-Inspector Driver, Om Prakash Pandey – Sub Inspector Armourer, has been awarded Director General Railway Protection Force Insignia for the year 2019. This prestigious award has been given for their exemplary performance and committed service in the prevention and detection of crime in Railway premises and also helping the Rail passengers during the journey.
