MSU Commerce Faculty locked by ABVP

50% course reduction has been demanded by the students of the Commerce faculty. In regard to this, the ABVP members locked the Commerce faculty to reduce the courses of First and Second-year examination.  They have also threatened to intensify their agitation if their demands are not met. The Dean has also given a memorandum regarding this.

Due to the current pandemic, the university was closed and had been operating online. Teachers conducted lectures for students online. The university is planning to schedule FY and SY exams as per the 100 % syllabus which has resulted in confusion among the students.

So, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has raised its voice against the commerce faculty. 50 % reduction in courses has been demanded by them.

Earlier the student union had a verbal representation with the Dean of Commerce, regarding the reduction of the course by 50 %. But it was not taken into consideration and the faculty planned to take the exam as per the 100 % syllabus. So now ABVP has raised the issue and locked the gate in protest.

In the memorandum given by ABVP, they have mentioned that online education is not up to the mark and therefore it’s not appropriate to take the exam according to the 100 % course. A great loss will be suffered by the students if the examination is taken as per the syllabus. Therefore, it has been demanded to reduce the course by 50 % for the exam. Leaders of the ABVP said that the Commerce Faculty has been locked down with a demand to reduce the courses by 50 %.
If the faculty fails to change its decision then, there will be a fierce agitation in the coming days as informed by the ABVP members.
