Health enthusiasts heave a sigh of relief as gardens and parks reopen today

In Unlock-4, the Corporation decided to open the parks and gardens under strict guidelines. All the 250 small and big gardens in the city including Sayajibaug reopened today. Before reopening, the park and garden department of the Corporation sanitized the areas as per COVID-19 guidelines. Certain guidelines have also been issued for people to follow which includes wearing compulsory face masks and maintain social distancing.

Morning walkers arrived in large numbers and heave a sigh of relief after six months of lockdown. There were people selling tea snacks, refreshing ginger mint juice, immunity-boosting kadha outside the area.

One of the morning walkers, Munnabhai Prajapati said that he is happy that the garden has started. Early morning walk refreshes him instantly and he feels rejuvenated. He requested the corporation to keep a temperature gun and sanitizers outside the garden and stop the suspected people outside the gate to prevent the spread of infection.

V.R. Chikhaliya from the Parks and Gardens Department of the VMC said that in Unlock 4 the parks and gardens started with strict COVID 19 guidelines. The decision to open Ajwa Nimeta, Sayajibaug Zoo, Planetarium, Toy train rides will be started in a phased manner. Everything has been sanitized and cleaned by the staff and a decision to open them will be taken soon. The timings of the garden will be from 6 to 10 am in the morning and 4 to 8 pm in the evening. People are requested to follow the guidelines strictly which includes compulsory masks and maintain social distancing.
