Vadodara: Water Tanker Overturns Near Khodiyar Nagar After Road Cave-In
A water tanker overturned on D-Mart Road near Khodiyar Nagar in Vadodara on Monday morning after the driver reportedly lost control while navigating a damaged stretch of road. The incident occurred on a busy route where sewer line work has been underway for several weeks.
According to local residents, deep pits have been left open in the middle of the road due to ongoing drainage work. The tanker was passing through the area when the driver attempted to avoid one of the pits, following which the vehicle climbed the divider and overturned. A loud impact was heard, leading to panic among commuters and nearby shopkeepers.
The tanker driver was trapped inside the cabin for a short time but was rescued by local people. No serious injuries were reported. The accident caused traffic disruption for several hours, as the road already had partial restrictions due to construction work. School buses and office commuters were affected.
Police reached the spot and managed traffic while the tanker was removed. Civic authorities were informed about the condition of the road. Further action regarding repairs and safety measures is awaited.
