Water tanker arranged at VMC office after supply disruption

The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) had to arrange a water tanker at its main office premises after facing a water shortage, officials confirmed on Wednesday. The incident occurred during the winter season, when water demand is usually lower, raising questions about internal water management at the civic body’s headquarters.

According to sources, the shortage led to a fire department tanker being called to supply water to the VMC office. Visuals of the tanker inside the municipal office premises later circulated on social media, drawing public attention. The VMC is responsible for managing water supply across the city, where residents in several areas regularly report issues related to low pressure and irregular supply.

Civic officials have not yet issued a detailed statement on the cause of the shortage at the office. It remains unclear whether the issue was due to a technical fault, pipeline problem, or maintenance work.

The corporation has stated that internal checks are being carried out to assess the situation and ensure regular supply. Further details are awaited.
