Vande Bharat Now Connects 21 Cities in Gujarat

Vande Bharat Adds New Momentum to Gujarat’s Rail Network

Gujarat’s railway network has expanded further with the launch of a new Vande Bharat Express service connecting Asarwa (Ahmedabad) to Udaipur in Rajasthan. The semi-high-speed train strengthens connectivity in North Gujarat and brings Himmatnagar into the modern rail network. With this addition, a total of 21 cities in Gujarat are now connected through the Vande Bharat corridor.

Ahmedabad has emerged as the main hub, with all six Vande Bharat trains in the state touching Sabarmati or Asarwa stations. Cities such as Vadodara, Surat, Vapi, Rajkot and Surendranagar are served by two trains each, while Gandhinagar, Anand, Palanpur, Mehsana, Jamnagar, Dwarka, Okha, Junagadh, Veraval, Navsari and Himmatnagar have one connection each.

The network also improves access to major pilgrimage and tourism destinations including Dwarka, Somnath and Udaipur, while strengthening the Ahmedabad–Mumbai business corridor.

Equipped with modern features like automatic sliding doors, CCTV cameras, GPS-based passenger information systems and reclining seats, Vande Bharat offers faster and more comfortable travel.

Gujarat’s rail connectivity continues to expand with this new addition.
