Health Advisory Issued as Summer Heat Raises Risk of Stomach Infections
With temperatures rising across Vadodara, health experts have advised residents to take precautions to avoid stomach-related illnesses during the summer season. Doctors have noted that food contamination cases tend to increase during this period due to faster bacterial growth in heat.
According to health guidelines, residents are advised to consume freshly prepared food and avoid stale or uncovered items, especially from roadside vendors. Light meals such as lentils and boiled vegetables are recommended over oily and spicy food. Authorities also suggest drinking adequate water and opting for natural beverages like buttermilk and coconut water to prevent dehydration.
Fruits and vegetables should be washed properly before consumption, and items with high water content such as watermelon and cucumber are considered suitable for summer diets.
Maintaining personal hygiene, including regular handwashing and kitchen cleanliness, has also been emphasized. Health officials have advised people to avoid extremely cold drinks and prolonged exposure to heat on an empty stomach.
Further awareness efforts may continue as temperatures remain high.
