The central government has revised the booking rules for domestic LPG cylinders, increasing the minimum gap required between two bookings. Under the new guideline issued by the Ministry of Petroleum, consumers must now wait 25 days before booking the next LPG cylinder after receiving the previous one.
Earlier, the waiting period between two bookings was 21 days. The change follows a recent revision in which the gap had already been increased from 15 days to 21 days. Officials said the new rule has been introduced to manage supply and prevent stockpiling of cylinders.
The government has also stated that there is currently no shortage of LPG in the country. The revised booking interval is intended to ensure that cylinders are distributed evenly among consumers.
Recent changes in global energy markets have also affected domestic fuel prices. According to available information, prices of domestic LPG cylinders have increased by around ₹60, while commercial cylinders have seen an increase of about ₹114.5. Further details on supply and pricing are awaited from the authorities.
