Baroda is the result of the revolutionary vision of late ruler ,Sayaji Rao Gaekwad . Vison was all about making Vadodara Educational, Industrial and Commercial centre and yes his dream came true.

Vadodara has great historical background of around 2000 years and more.Moghul used to rule over this city till 1732 and than Vadodara came under Maratha rule which started from 1734 and ended at 1949.
Best time of Maratha rule was started with the accession of Maharaja Sayajirao in1875 it was an era of great progress and constructive achievements in all fields.
He started a series of boled socio-economics reforms. He started model textile and tile factories. Due to his initiative today Vadodara is most important centers of textiles, chemical and oil industries today. He boldly introduced compulsory primary education and a library movement(the first of its kind in India ) to his adult education scheme.
