The intention of urban Indians throughout the post-pandemic festive season is reshaping

Are you equipped with your diyas, dresses, lights, and palatable sweets this Diwali?

After battling the first two waves of the pandemic and gaining a better understanding of consumer buying behavior in the new conventional, small businesses, including retailers, are hoping to reclaim some of their markets this holiday season, as vaccination rates continue to rise despite the threat of a third wave looming in the background.

As we dive into the celebration market that glimmers with lights and festive aromas, the market is at a steady recovery rate as people step out in 2021 as contrasted to the pandemic induced 2020 Diwali.

Small businesses are rethinking their menus and bringing back their hex. A significant number of small businesses, be it home bakers or newly opened eateries, are taking to social media to engage consumers with their offers and special menu this Diwali.

IceKraft is a Mumbai-based ice cream cafe that has opened up in Vadodara city. Desserts, they decided, were the table’s real underachievers. ” This Diwali, we bring authentic ice creams and bread to Vadodara city. Our menu will be serving the flavor of monkey bread, a concept less known, and the Zulu, freshly made charcoal-based ice cream,” says Sahil. He further states, “There has been a notable change in how consumers are engaging with the market, in the new normal stage post-pandemic.”

As markets are gearing up with the festive spirit, pandemic regulations have made vital changes in consumer engagements. Due to lockdown timings around the city, major hobnobbing spots stand deserted at prime time.

Nidhee Gohil, a home-baker, is all braced up with her gourmet bread, cakes, and tempting desserts on her menu. Her Instagram, Cake It Till You Make It, presence has helped her reach out to her clients and create an impact for her business. “Social media has been one boundless platform for me to promote my business and engage with my clients. Filled doughnuts, Korean Cream Cheese buns, and savory bread have been a hit among my clients. As a small business owner, I solely focus on the quality I deliver to my clients.” says Nidhee.

Jay Ambe Sweets and Farsan, curated by Khushboo, are planning to set out their idea of making live and inviting sweets this Diwali. ” This year, I will be introducing a range of flavorsome ice creams like black-current and blueberry. Consumers are now becoming more vigilant with hygiene; we take special care of maintaining proper hygiene and aligning with the Covid protocols. However, this year we are expecting more business than the previous year as people are getting back to their festive spirits.”

People are now stepping out and adapting to the ideas of celebration in a new normal. However, it is necessary to remember that pandemic is yet to be endemic and the changes can be slow and steady.
