More than 5901 police and government personnel cast their vote via a paper ballot yesterday.
A special arrangement was made for government personnel who will be busy with poll-bound duties on April 23 to cast their votes through postal ballots at the police headquarters of the city on Wednesday.
These voters included police personnel of the city and rural police force, gram rakshak dal, home guards, GUVNL police, state reserve police and drivers of GSRTC. The voting facilitation centres were established as these people will be involved in providing security on the eve of voting day. The head Armor Guard at the police headquarters, Chinmanbhai Mavjibhai Parmar, still came to vote even though he is undergoing treatment for cancer. He came to cast his vote wearing a mask over his mouth.
