Swarnim Gujarat Surat Team Celebrates Diwali and Environmental Awareness in Jaisalmer

In a unique and environmentally conscious Diwali celebration, a team from Swarnim Gujarat Surat traveled to Jaisalmer to mark the occasion in a distinctive way. Their festivities included planting 1100 trees, commemorating the 148th birth anniversary of Sardar Patel, and extending warm Diwali wishes to the Border Security Force (BSF) soldiers stationed in the region.

The team, comprising 10 dedicated members from the Swarnim Gujarat Youth Foundation Surat, embarked on a journey to Jaisalmer, where they engaged in activities that highlighted their commitment to environmental conservation and patriotic spirit. Ghanshyam Birla, the President of the organization, shared their remarkable experiences during this Diwali celebration.

The Diwali festivities began with a heartwarming gesture toward the BSF soldiers. The Swarnim Gujarat Surat team distributed sweets, gifts, and air coolers to the valiant soldiers, expressing their gratitude for their service and sacrifice. This thoughtful act exemplified the spirit of Diwali – a time for spreading joy and goodwill.

Additionally, the team seized the opportunity to commemorate the 148th birth anniversary of Sardar Patel, one of India’s founding fathers. In a grand ceremony, they unveiled a statue of Sardar Patel on the Jaisalmer campus, a symbol of reverence and remembrance.

However, the highlight of their visit was their dedicated environmental awareness campaign. Collaborating with the BSF jawans, the team planted a total of 1100 trees, each standing at an impressive height of 10 feet. These trees were planted at various locations, including the Jaisalmer campus, as well as the borders at Dhanana BOP zero and even BOP. This massive tree-planting initiative underscored their commitment to the environment, with a focus on contributing to cleaner air, soil, and a greener future.

The team’s efforts were not only a celebration of Diwali and Sardar Patel’s legacy but also a tribute to their deep concern for the environment. By planting these trees, they demonstrated their dedication to preserving and enhancing the natural surroundings in the region.

Their commendable work did not go unnoticed. The Inspector General, Manjit Singh, along with Deputy Commanders Dheeraj Singh and Narendra Sir of BSF Jaisalmer, extended a warm welcome to the 10-member team, recognizing their commitment to both national security and environmental stewardship.

This memorable and significant program received praise from numerous individuals, including Vice President Dr. Madhukanth Gondalia, Trustee Haresh Mangaroliya, Babu Vekaria, and Ghanshyam Padhra, among others.

The Swarnim Gujarat Surat team’s visit to Jaisalmer stands as a testament to the values of environmental consciousness, patriotism, and the spirit of Diwali. By honoring Sardar Patel, extending festive cheer to the BSF soldiers, and planting trees, they have showcased the power of collective action in fostering a brighter and greener future for India and its citizens.
