Mountain Dew Rocks MSU!

11th September, 2013

Fatehgunj

At 14:30 pm, soon after students of MS University were relieved from the tension and workload of hectic college hours, they were greeted outside their campus, next to the Faculty of Law, by the wild ones from Mountain Dew who unleashed their macho spirit, wheelie-ing, stoppie-ing, burning, standing, spinning on their bikes roaring the popular Mountain Dew slogan ‘Dar Ke Aage Jeet Hai!’ with full gusto. The event was arranged by the Faculty of Business Administration, and about one hundred students stayed back until 16:15 pm to enjoy the mini-spectacle.

The event was hosted by Vadodara-based anchor Mr. Nishant Ishrani, who kept the event alive with his unflagging enthusiasm as he called in the four stunt bikers, donning leather jackets and rugged jeans, while boys and girls stood on the sidewalk with bated breath. It didn’t take long before the bikers exhibited their skills on the newly built campus roads. The students cheered the bikers like they would cheer their heroes, and the bikers maintained their spirit even after a few minor slip-ups. When they stood up after a fall and raised their hands triumphantly in the air, they were greeted with a palpable, almost deafening applause!

The spectacle didn’t simmer when the bikers halted as Mr. Nishant Ishrani quickly announced a special Mountain Dew Challenge for MSU students, where the winner would experience a stunt ride behind the bikers they chose. Firstly, it was the girls turn, and four volunteered for the Mountain Dew Challenge, where they had to gulp down a 300ml Mountain Dew bottle; the person who finished first would be declared the winner. Konika Kamra, a second year BBA student won the challenge and was thrilled after being treated to a high-speed experience. They boys then entered the battleground, where Harshal Shah, another second year BBA student, won the challenge and said ‘I will ride again!’ after getting his ride, although it was evident he was evidently shaking.

Mountain Dew submitted to the students’ demand of ‘Once More!’ by performing another round of daredevil stunts. Students were treated to chilled Mountain Dew post event, to quench their thirst after bearing the afternoon heat. Guess Mountain Dew should change its campaign slogan in Vadodara to: “Dew To Beat Vadodara Heat!”. It was a memorable afternoon.
