Small Example among big ones | Vadodara

It’s an old tell-tale that citizens’ hard-earned money is often seen going wasted on false claims done by uncouth men of the society. Several such examples of money getting wasted through uncivilized channels like outsourced agencies are a hindrance to the growth of the nation. Every year staggering sums of money gets accumulated in the form of bills. And the bills are of just a hoax amount of activities that were never conducted.
The team of Our Vadodara encountered one such wastage of money at the ground next to D Mart Akota. It had a stall of Garvi Gurjari which comes under Gujarat State Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd. The state government-operated stall was just a mound of cardboard printed with different handicrafts. It is believed that it was erected by the unidentified outsourced agency who had aimed for claiming money from the government.
We delved deeper into the matter and found out that it had no salesmen, security, or any form of manpower to govern the whole stall. One of our team members tried to call on the number provided on the board and to our surprise, the authorities at Garvi Gurjari had no idea about the stall. It is still unclear whether they had pretended to act unaware of the exhibition or actually had no idea about the same.
For further investigation, we decided to visit the store of Garvi Gurjari at RC Dutt Road. The Gujarat government employee was unknown of any fact that an exhibition stall had come in the ground at Akota. It was a sheer representation of money claiming by the people who had put up the stall.
Bringing picture on the larger note, such activities with zero publicity are a lot common prevailing in the society. It has no purpose of putting the limelight on the hard work of craftsmen or on the employees of the state government.
Such exhibitions are seen selling items at exorbitant rates, much higher than their actual price which happens to be of mere value.
The government has tried to take the lead in developmental tasks but at times has failed to trace the roots of unlawful activities happening with the help of state fundings
