Why not on Social Media?

Social Media is not the new word for any of us now. Social media in simple words is a platform where everyone interacts and share things.This is the fastest growing media in the history where million number of people are  joining everyday. OURVADODARA connected simple logic,everyone is on social media and our government is working of public.Why not to use this social media platform to connect them where two way communication is possible.

Having this thought in mind where we conducted small survey among people of Vadodara (of age group between 20-50) where we found out following facts.

1) Out of 10 house,8 house has someone from family member on social media

2)3 lakh Barodians on facebook and 1 lakh on twitter.

3)58% people are not aware about functioning of VMC.

4)Number of people on social media will be double in next five years.

On basis of these all facets we proposed Vadodara Municipal Corporation to start there social media account where they can update about various activities,notice,announcement etc but important thing is that they should give contract to very responsible agency because one wrong step can screw up whole organization .

If Vadodara Municipal Corporation convert this suggestion into reality than , VMC will be the first municipality in Gujarat to take this initiative  which will make work for every city very easy.Improving micro level government is more important than improving Delhi government as Local government is directly connected with us. Digitizing things is necessity now as now world is running very faster where people don’t have time for sorting small things.Social Media presence of VMC will help to build trust among the citizens and it will also work as reporting tool for them to report details about work to the public.
