MSU through the eyes of The BBA-ites

MSU BBAYes, I had been the one who had been teased by all the relatives on an issue which every Indian teenager faces right after they are done with board examinations.

“Ohho! Beta bade ho gaye aap, ab college jaoge!”

And while every relative said that I did my some own kind of Macarena and Harlem Shake, feeling proud to finally experience how to live that life which my mother always explained me about.

College is somewhat all the teenagers desperately want to go after School. Devoid of all the rules and regulations that all of us were tied up with for the past seventeen years. As for me, I had always dreamed of being in college all this while *yes I have all the rights to be filmy when it comes to this, I am Bollywood influenced.*

I was soon ecstatic on joining the MSU BBA faculty, moreover knowing to have it in  the good books of not just the elderly sector of Vadodara but also among the youth.

I still remember the first day of my orientation program when all the rules were made clear, and I clearly remember the mixed reactions of my batch mates. But all of us with a new fresh mind, started our new journey, thinking our college is going to be one of those which is going to be an acronym for Masti ki Paathshaala.

But now, I will take you to one of the most gravest reality check journey and the real life stories through the eyes of those who are the present first year BBA-ites.

Just one question, i.e. “What is your feedback about the college management and the new reforms and rules?”

Here were the answers,

One of my peers said, “Wait what? College? You mean school right? Moreover freedom should be given to us to take any responsibility. The strictness is not going to help any students to be focused, its like holding a trigger on your head and forcing you to do what you don’t want to do.”

While the other said, “It is not providing us any scope for individual development. What people think BBA to be is all related to numbers and accounts, but the truth is we, The Business Administrators are the ones who Administrates a business and not an Accountant. These new rules and regulations just don’t give us any scope to experiment.”

“Our Student Association is the only element which makes our College, (oops, school I mean) feel like college. Otherwise their is no reason to wake up everyday and come to school all over again and gain nothing because only few faculties are the one who can be understood.”

“We do not have a permanent faculty, permanent books to refer, we have to fill one form at least seven or ten times, because we have a weird technology, which was told at the beginning to be ADVANCED.”

“Commendable punctuality!” was told by one of my seniors, whereas I overheard one of our exchange student saying, “Things are way too late outta here! I have to wait for a week to just get a permission.”

Well its not that our college reforms and management is bad. One of the good things, for those who really want to study is that we do not have proxy lectures because none of the lecturers fail to mark their presence. Thus we have regular school type study from 9 am to 3 pm. When we asked for a legitimate reason for such strict rules, they said, “It will give you a corporate exposure!”

In the race to become a corporate, we all have forgotten what is a college. As for me, I had a complete heartbreak. Because all that was promised were not fulfilled. Not only did they snatch the freedom of being a college student, but also students are dissatisfied, with the education system, the management of not just the BBA faculty, but MSU as a whole. But what most importantly the designated authority should remember is, ‘Strict parents, have sneaky kids!”

Too much restriction can lead to dissatisfaction and then a rebellion. Thus it is a time for a necessary change!

Very true Anokhi..being a part of BBA I have witnessed what all you have mentioned..the lethargic behaviour of the administration staff has delayed many of my preoccupations..but inspite of many drawbacks I must say BBA has got a very good ‘student crowd’..we know what BBA is actually..but outsiders have a different perspective for us..MSU BBA is defined as smart, well mannered, active, prompt and intellectual bunch of students. I suppose it’s all because of the very well managed student’s association and the psychological environment that we create within the building..whatever could be the reason it is worth to be a part of MSU-BBA. Good luck to you.

Well Shobhit,I am just got into the second year, so well being honest, my experience wasn’t as appealing. The students and students association is absolutely fantastic, but the management is bad and worsens everyday. So I would suggest you to really not stay on the belief of MSU but also try somewhere else. 🙂

But in anyways, you will make some of the best friends on this planet out here and I can guarantee you that 🙂
